I'm a UX Designer in Boise, ID. 21 years in product design, the last 8 as a Principal Designer.

My work spans wearables, mobile, tablet, TV, and multi-modal platforms including voice, touch, and gesture. Most recently, I led product design for Life360 Pet GPS tracker and Tile things trackers.

I do my strongest work on 0-to-1 products: starting from the customer, mapping the problem before anyone touches a pixel, then staying close to the detail as engineering and research turn the thing into something real. I've shipped a number of those alongside product, engineering, and research partners.

I work well in group critiques. The diverse opinions and approaches make the work better, and I've grown as a designer because of it.

Earlier in a product's life, my work is more conceptual — the kind executive teams use to set direction, argue for a new bet, or move into a space the company hasn't entered. I present those ideas through decks, prototypes, and high-fidelity VR when an idea needs to be felt before it can be argued for. The customer stays at the center of all of it.

I've pitched design work directly to CEOs Stephen Elop (Nokia), Steve Ballmer (Microsoft), and Jeff Bezos (Amazon).
